Identify the windows and access
List internal and external panes, frames, tracks, screens, storeys, glass coatings, balconies and restrictions. Share photos, parking, building rules and preferred timing. High-access work needs a site-specific assessment.
Understand the proposed method
Ask how the provider will reach each pane and what training, equipment, approvals and insurance apply to the job. Rope access, platforms, poles and other systems have different limits. Do not assume every cleaner can access every window safely.

Compare scope and quote terms
Confirm panes, components, water or products, access charges, weather policy, exclusions and pricing basis in writing. Stains, hard-water deposits, scratches, etching, damaged frames and failed seals may need separate treatment or repair.
Consider DIY only for safe access
Ground-level windows may be manageable with compatible tools and products. Do not lean outside, climb on roofs or overreach from ladders. Follow the glass maker's guidance and arrange professional help where safe access is uncertain.
