Check product and appliance instructions
Confirm that the product is suitable for the oven's cavity, enamel, glass, racks, seals and any catalytic or self-cleaning surfaces. Some manufacturers prohibit chemical oven cleaners on particular finishes. Do not assume that a product safe for one component is safe for all parts.
Protect yourself and the kitchen
Follow label directions for ventilation, gloves, eye protection, application and storage. Keep children, pets, food and cookware away as directed. Avoid contact with heating elements, fans, vents, electrical components and door seals unless the product and appliance instructions explicitly permit it.
Apply, remove and rinse as directed
Use only the specified amount and contact time. Do not combine oven cleaner with bleach, ammonia, acids or another product. Remove residue using the label's rinsing instructions and allow the appliance to dry fully before use. Stop if the finish changes or fumes cause irritation.
Know when to seek help
Do not dismantle an oven or use chemicals to address a fault. For damaged components, persistent residue on a prohibited surface or a reaction after application, follow the manufacturer and product emergency guidance and contact an appropriate professional.
