Do not skip the condition report
Review move-in records and current instructions before cleaning. Note existing damage, rooms, fixtures and any change in condition; clarify disputed items with the property manager. A clean does not repair damage or determine the bond outcome NSW Fair Trading.
Include approved outdoor and access areas
Confirm whether patios, balconies, driveways, gardens or shared areas are included. Provide keys, parking, stairs, gates and access timing. Pressure cleaning, gardening, rubbish removal and repairs are separate tasks unless agreed.
Choose products for the material
Harsh products or abrasive tools can damage timber, stone, coatings and tiles. Check product labels and surface instructions, test only as directed and never mix chemicals. Report damaged or delicate finishes before work.
Leave time for the listed tasks
Allow enough time to clear belongings and provide access; don't assume every property has the same workload. List windows, tracks, ovens, carpets and cupboards separately and confirm each item in writing.
