Read the written handover instructions
Check the lease, entry condition report and written property-manager checklist. List the rooms and accessible surfaces that need attention, and record damage or maintenance separately from removable soil. For tenancy rights or disputes, use current official New South Wales information rather than a cleaner’s marketing claim.
Prepare the rooms and access
Remove personal belongings and rubbish, empty agreed cupboards and provide authorised keys, parking and building-entry details. Tell the provider about furniture, stairs, lifts, pets, inspection timing and any surfaces needing special care. Do not move heavy appliances or handle hazards without suitable help.
Confirm the cleaning scope and optional tasks
Ask which rooms, appliances and accessible surfaces are included. Confirm carpets, exterior windows, balconies, upholstery, pest treatment, mould remediation and rubbish separately where needed. Cleaning does not include repairs, tenancy advice or hazardous-material handling unless a qualified provider explicitly confirms that separate work.
Check follow-up terms and outcome limits
Keep the written quote and booking confirmation. If re-clean support is offered, verify its timeframe, eligibility and relationship to the agreed scope. A cleaner cannot guarantee a bond refund, reference, inspection approval or restoration of worn or damaged surfaces.
