What types of damages are tenants liable for, and which damages are not their responsibility?

Damages tenants are responsible for include:
- Carpet Issues: Stains, burns, tears, or holes that go beyond normal use.
- Flooring: Scratches, stubborn stains, and damage caused by careless movement or spills.
- Countertops: Cuts, scratches, stains, or chips resulting from misuse.
- Walls: Holes from nails, dents, scratches, stains, or any kind of intentional damage.
- Furniture (if furnished): Tears, stains, burns, or broken parts.
- Other significant damages: Any damage caused by tenants, their guests, or pets which wasn’t present before the tenancy.
Damages tenants are NOT responsible for:
- Natural causes: Storm or flood damage, or any other issues caused by events beyond your control.
- General wear and tear: Fading paint, worn floorboards, gently worn carpets, or the natural aging of fixtures and fittings. Everyday usage that leads to gradual deterioration, such as loose hinges or minor scuffs, typically isn’t the tenant’s responsibility.

All rooms are cleaned well
The bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, and all floors need to be cleaned thoroughly. This includes vacuuming and mopping to ensure no dust or dirt is left behind.
Toilets and laundry
Clean the bathrooms and laundry room thoroughly, including the sinks, faucets, benches, tub, shower screen, mirrors, and floors. De-scaling shower areas, sinks, and toilets ensures hygiene and a sparkling finish.
Cabinets
The insides of the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom cabinets and drawers will be wiped clean. This ensures that every storage space is as spotless as the visible surfaces.
