Ask for the exact product and permitted use
If treatment is proposed, request the current product label, target pest, treated areas, method, qualifications or authorisations, preparation, occupant and pet precautions, re-entry instructions and follow-up terms. Confirm the product is permitted for that pest and site with the applicable regulator.
Verify credentials and local requirements
Check which licensing or registration applies to the proposed work in your state or territory and verify the provider with that authority. NSW residents can consult the NSW EPA pesticide information; other jurisdictions have different regulators.
Separate pest treatment from structural repairs
A pest inspection, chemical treatment, timber repair and building assessment are separate tasks. Ask which provider is responsible for each and keep reports, invoices, labels and approvals together.
