Do not use a tool on delicate fabric or rugs unless their care instructions permit it.
Check upkeep before you buy
Compare how the dust container or bag, filters and brush assembly are emptied, cleaned or replaced, and how often the maker says maintenance is needed. Dog hair can wrap around moving parts; follow the exact model manual and disconnect power before any permitted maintenance.
Compare like-for-like Australian models
For models currently sold in Australia, compare the documented price, warranty, included tools, dimensions and care requirements. Treat “best” lists as opinions unless they explain test conditions and compare the same tasks. A product feature is not proof that a vacuum will remove every hair or suit every floor.
