1. Agree on the cleaning scope
List work areas, kitchens, washrooms, floors, touch points, waste and any excluded equipment. Separate routine cleaning from maintenance, disinfection, specialist floor care and restoration. Confirm the frequency and how changes are requested.
2. Plan access and scheduling
Discuss operating hours, keys or access controls, alarm procedures, security-sensitive spaces and who will coordinate the visit. Set expectations for missed access, urgent requests and communication without sharing credentials insecurely.
3. Review products and site requirements
Tell the provider about surfaces, ventilation, occupants, sensitivities and site-specific rules. Ask which products are proposed and how instructions, storage and protective equipment are handled. Follow product labels and applicable workplace procedures; do not assume any product or method is suitable everywhere.
4. Compare written terms
Compare the same task list, schedule, staffing assumptions, price basis, consumables, exclusions, cancellation and review process. Verify current insurance, qualifications or screening directly where relevant to the work; do not assume a provider holds a credential or guarantees a particular result.
