Sort belongings before the clean
Pack items you are taking, set aside belongings that need another destination and arrange any separately needed rubbish or donation service. Do not assume a cleaner removes furniture, appliances or waste.
Keep daily essentials accessible
Leave out items needed until the move is complete, such as toiletries, chargers, keys and basic kitchenware. Pack these last and keep them separate from items being cleaned or transported.
Schedule cleaning around access
Tell the provider when rooms will be empty, how keys or building entry will be arranged and when utilities are available. List the requested rooms, appliances, floors and any optional carpet or window work.
Check the written handover scope
Use the documents and instructions that apply to your property to prepare a room list. Record repairs, damage and maintenance separately; cleaning cannot decide tenancy responsibilities or guarantee a bond outcome.
