Find out which carpet-cleaning method was used
Ask the cleaner whether the work involved dry soil removal, a low-moisture method, extraction or another process. These are not interchangeable. The provider can explain its aftercare instructions for the actual appointment and product used.
Check whether the carpet and vacuum permit damp use
Read the carpet-care guidance and the exact vacuum manual. Do not run a dry vacuum or powered brush over damp carpet unless both manufacturers allow it. If the carpet is still wet, tacky, heavily treated or shows pile change, pause and ask the service provider before vacuuming.
Avoid a universal timer or performance statistic
Drying and aftercare depend on the process, fibre, backing, moisture, room conditions and airflow. Do not rely on an unsupported percentage, a generic product ranking or a fixed number of hours. Use the appointment-specific guidance and check the carpet condition before resuming routine care.
If a mark remains, do not layer another treatment
Tell the provider about the mark and any previous products. Repeated wet cleaning or unapproved spotters can affect colour and backing. The carpet maker or a qualified carpet-care provider can advise whether a different assessment is needed.
