Declutter before you dust
Work one room at a time and sort items into keep, donate, recycle and dispose categories. Do not create unstable piles in corridors or block exits. Keep hazardous, sharp, electrical or contaminated items separate and use the appropriate disposal route. Clear shelves and floors so cleaning reaches the surfaces rather than only the visible gaps.
Use a low-dust cleaning order
Start with higher reachable surfaces, then furniture, ledges, skirting boards and floors. Vacuum slowly with a suitable filter and attachment before damp wiping where the material permits. Use clean cloths and avoid dry dusting that simply redistributes particles. Follow care instructions for timber, stone, electronics, blinds and delicate finishes.

Manage the sources of dust
Use suitable entry mats, keep outdoor soil outside, launder fabrics according to their labels and replace or clean filters as the appliance manufacturer directs. Fix leaks and dampness rather than masking odour. Improve ventilation only when outdoor air and security make it appropriate. Persistent mould-like growth or building dust needs an assessment beyond routine cleaning.
Book help for a larger reset
A one-off domestic or deep clean can help when dust has accumulated, clutter has been removed and several rooms need coordinated work. Provide room priorities, surfaces, access, pets and the condition. Dirt2Tidy can quote the cleaning scope, while disposal, repairs and hazardous-material handling remain separate.
