The 10-minute emergency reset
Minute 1–2: open suitable ventilation, collect rubbish and put loose items into a basket. Minute 3–5: wipe the kitchen bench and sink, then clean the toilet seat, flush button and basin with separate cloths. Minute 6–8: vacuum the entry and the most visible floor path.
Minute 9–10: replace towels, close cupboards and return the basket items. This is a presentation reset, not a sanitation treatment for mould, bodily fluids or hazardous spills.
The 20-minute guest-ready routine
Spend five minutes clearing the living room and making beds or sofas presentable. Spend five minutes on the bathroom: mirror, basin, toilet touch-points and visible floor marks. Spend five minutes on the kitchen: food waste, benches, cooktop and sink. Use the final five minutes to vacuum high-traffic floors and ventilate rooms.
Use only labelled products, never mix them and keep damp cloths away from electrical items.

Choose the right shortcut
Use a dry cloth or vacuum for crumbs before wiping. Spot-clean a mark instead of wetting an entire floor. Use a lint roller for clothing and a suitable vacuum attachment for upholstery. Do not use a shortcut on natural stone, unsealed timber, delicate fabric or an appliance unless the care instructions allow it.
A quick routine should reduce work, not create a repair.
When a short reset is not enough
If grease is baked onto an oven, pet hair is embedded in carpet, soap residue covers a bathroom or clutter prevents access, a 10-minute routine will not deliver a detailed result. Dirt2Tidy can quote a one-off or recurring domestic clean, with carpet, upholstery or oven cleaning added where appropriate.
Mention the rooms and the time-sensitive reason so the scope supports the outcome.
