Do not start before the site is ready
Confirm dusty trades are complete, access is permitted, finishes are ready for cleaning and utilities are safe. Keep cleaners out of restricted work areas. Suspected asbestos, silica dust, chemical residue or other hazardous material needs assessment and handling by appropriately qualified specialists.
Define the rooms and required detail
List floors, glass, frames, fixtures, cabinets, bathrooms, kitchens, high and low surfaces, and whether the request is a rough, final or presentation clean. Clarify debris, packaging, paint, grout, adhesives, high windows and waste handling; these may be excluded or require separate trades.
Match equipment to new surfaces
New coatings, stone, timber, glass and appliances may have specific cleaning or curing instructions. Ask which tools and products will be used and how fine dust will be collected. Do not assume pressure washing, steam or wet cleaning is safe for every new finish.
Agree access, inspection and exclusions
Share property size, condition, access, parking, water, power, remaining trades and handover timing. Confirm inclusions, re-visits and variation charges in writing. Cleaning cannot certify construction quality, air quality, occupancy readiness or remove all permanent marks.
