Use zones for daily activities
Group items by where they are used—cooking, working, relaxing or sleeping—and return them to a consistent place. Keep entrances, exits and routes to windows and equipment clear.
Choose reachable, stable storage
Measure shelves or drawers before buying organizers and store frequently used items at an accessible height. Secure wall-mounted units as their maker directs, distribute weight safely and avoid unstable stacks or blocked vents.
Limit duplicate items and packaging
Review one drawer or cupboard at a time, keeping essential items separate from recycling and disposal. Do not discard another person's belongings, documents, medicine, chemicals or batteries without permission and suitable handling.
Keep cleaning tasks practical
Clear surfaces before dusting or vacuuming and use tools suitable for the room's floors and furniture. A smaller footprint may still need the same surface-specific care; avoid wet cleaning around electronics and follow product labels.
Ask for help with the right scope
Decluttering, furniture moving, storage, repairs and disposal are different from domestic cleaning. If booking a cleaner, list accessible rooms, condition, priority tasks and access; confirm optional work in writing.
