Assess whether the window is safely reachable
Identify the storey, window type, ground conditions, nearby power lines, balconies, obstacles and whether opening or removing the sash is permitted. Heavy or awkward windows can fall or cause injury; do not remove them unless the manufacturer provides a safe procedure and you can manage the panel safely.
Use ground-level tools only within their limits
A telescopic pole or hose-fed tool may suit some accessible glass when used from stable ground and according to its instructions. Check reach, water pressure, nearby electrical equipment, runoff, glass coatings and surrounding finishes. Stop if control, visibility or safe footing is uncertain.
Avoid unsafe ladder and balcony work
Do not lean from an opening, stand on furniture, overreach from a ladder or work in unsuitable weather. A spotter or harness does not make an unsafe setup appropriate. High-level exterior work needs site-specific access planning and competent providers.
Book a suitable provider
Share building height, pane locations, photos, access restrictions, glass type and requested frames or screens. Verify the provider's method, capability, insurance and written scope for the actual site. Cleaning cannot repair scratches, failed seals or glass damage.
