Start with the material and residue
Tile, grout, natural stone, glass, chrome, acrylic and painted finishes respond differently to cleaners. Check manufacturer instructions and test only as directed. Do not use an acid, alkali, abrasive or solvent on an unknown surface.
Remove ordinary soil gently
Use a soft cloth or non-scratch tool where the surface maker allows it. Work in a small area, apply product exactly as labelled and rinse or dry as directed. Ventilate as instructed and keep wet floors clear until dry.
Avoid chemical combinations
Never mix bleach with vinegar, ammonia, toilet cleaner, drain products or any other cleaner. Do not combine home remedies or layer products. If you have already mixed products and notice fumes or a reaction, leave the area and seek appropriate emergency advice.
Separate cleaning from maintenance
Recurring damp, leaks, damaged grout, failed seals or extensive mould-like growth require source investigation or suitable specialist advice. Stronger scrubbing cannot repair a surface or plumbing fault and will not determine tenancy responsibility.
Confirm any professional scope
For a quote, describe the fixture, material, condition, access and requested tasks. Confirm products, exclusions and price in writing. A clean cannot guarantee a property inspection or bond outcome.
