Read the model-specific instructions
Find the appliance model number and consult its manual for permitted cleaning products, filter removal, cycle settings and parts that are dishwasher-safe. Do not pour vinegar or another chemical into the appliance unless the manufacturer expressly recommends that method.
Clean accessible filters and removable parts
If the manual allows filter removal, follow its steps and check for sharp debris before handling. Rinse or clean permitted parts as directed and reinstall them correctly. Do not force a filter, reach near a pump or dismantle panels.
Wipe seals and interior surfaces
Use a soft damp cloth and a compatible product where the manual allows. Avoid abrasive pads, solvents and products near seals, sensors, heating elements or controls unless directed. Never mix vinegar with bleach or another cleaning product.
Address persistent odour or poor performance
Check the manual's troubleshooting guidance for blocked filters, drainage or loading issues. Persistent leaks, error codes, standing water or unusual noise may require an appliance technician; cleaning cannot diagnose a mechanical fault.
