Check the model manual first
Find the instructions for the detergent drawer, door seal, filter and any drum-clean cycle. Some parts are user-serviceable; others require a technician. Isolate the appliance before handling parts as directed.
Wipe accessible residue
Remove the drawer only if the manual permits it, rinse it as directed and dry before refitting. Wipe the door seal gently with a suitable cloth; do not stretch, scrape or soak it. Keep water away from controls and electrical connections.
Use only the approved drum-clean method
Run the appliance's maintenance cycle or use the specific cleaner recommended by its maker. Do not combine vinegar, bleach, descaler, detergent or other products. Follow the exact dosing, temperature and ventilation instructions.
Escalate faults rather than cleaning harder
Leaks, persistent sewage odour, drainage problems, fault codes or damaged seals may need a plumber or appliance technician. Repeated chemical treatment or disassembly can worsen a fault; cleaning does not repair the washer.
