Confirm the site is ready for cleaning
Ask the builder or site manager to confirm access, utilities, cured finishes, remaining trades and any exclusion zones. Do not enter an active work area or disturb unknown dust, insulation, chemical residues, sharps or suspect hazardous material.
Remove belongings and ordinary loose debris
Once authorised, clear personal items and separate ordinary packaging or household rubbish from construction waste. Waste handling, demolition debris and hazardous materials require the responsible trade or an appropriately authorised provider.
Clean compatible surfaces from high to low
Use a suitable method for the new paint, flooring, stone, glass, joinery and fixtures. Follow maker curing and care instructions; avoid excess water, abrasive pads, solvents or pressure that could damage fresh finishes. Clean reachable surfaces before floors when the site conditions permit.
Treat vents, systems and specialist work separately
Do not open ductwork, clean live electrical components, alter building systems or remove construction filters unless a qualified person authorises the task. Fine construction dust, contamination, remediation and post-build certification need suitable specialist scope.
Request a defined post-trade cleaning scope
Provide room list, floor area, surface types, site status, access and residue details. Confirm inclusions, exclusions and waste responsibility in writing. Cleaning does not certify air quality, code compliance or completion of building work.
