Specify the room, floor area, furniture, surfaces and tasks requested. Dusting and vacuuming a mostly clear room differs from cleaning a furnished space with built-up grease, stains, pet hair or inside cupboards.
Consider access and condition
Clutter, stairs, parking, water access, fragile finishes and rooms that remain in use can affect the work. Share photos or arrange an assessment if the condition is difficult to describe.
Separate routine work from specialist tasks
Carpet extraction, oven interiors, high windows, upholstery, mould-like growth and repairs may need separate equipment or providers. Confirm whether any of these are included rather than adding them to a generic room estimate.
Compare written quotes by scope
Ask providers to describe the task list, exclusions, team assumptions, access needs and price basis. A stated duration is an estimate for the agreed conditions, not a guarantee that every task will be completed regardless of the room's actual state.
