Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Window Cleaner

List internal and external panes, frames, tracks, screens, storeys, balconies, parking and building rules. High-level, roof, rope-access, stained-glass or difficult exterior work needs specialist assessment and may not be available from every provider.

Ask who will perform the work, what equipment and access method they plan to use, and request current insurance or qualifications relevant to the task. Do not assume all window-cleaning providers offer the same height capability.

Check panes, screens, tracks, frames, timing, weather policy, access fees, exclusions and price basis. Cleaning does not fix failed seals, scratches, etching or damaged frames. Environmental product claims should be supported and product-compatible.

Clear reachable sills, arrange keys or building access and identify fragile surfaces. Share photos of difficult panes and confirm which areas are excluded if conditions are unsafe.
