Inspect accessible areas safely
If furniture can be moved safely and with permission, check for dust, loose debris or spills beneath it. Do not drag heavy items, shift appliances or block exit paths. Ask the property manager before moving supplied furniture or fixtures.
Separate residue from floor damage
Cleaning may remove suitable surface soil, but scratches, dents, worn finishes, water damage, dye transfer or coating failure may remain. Record existing condition with photographs and report damage through the tenancy process rather than applying a repair product.
Use material-compatible care
Identify carpet, timber, laminate, tile, stone or coating before cleaning. Follow product and manufacturer directions and avoid excess water, abrasives or solvents on unknown finishes. Carpet extraction is a separate task and must suit the material.
Prepare a handover cleaning quote
Share room list, floor types, furniture status, access and any carpet or stain concerns. Confirm inclusions and exclusions in writing; cleaning does not determine the agent's inspection or bond decision.
