Confirm the project stage and site readiness
Identify post-trade dust removal, detailed cleaning or final presentation. Confirm remaining trades, cured finishes, utilities, safe access and which rooms are ready. Cleaning cannot correct defects or replace construction sign-off.
Use products appropriate to finished surfaces
Check manufacturer instructions and product labels for floors, glass, joinery and coatings. Do not mix chemicals or assume a product described as green suits every material or task. Disclose existing damage and residues that may need separate assessment.
Separate ordinary debris from hazardous waste
Agree who supplies bins and removes non-hazardous waste. Asbestos, chemicals, sharps, contaminated material and hazardous residues require an appropriate specialist; do not sweep or vacuum unknown substances.
Prepare a project cleaning quote
Share site type, build stage, room list, access, trade timetable, debris responsibility and handover date. A walkthrough or photos may help define scope. Confirm inclusions, exclusions, product requirements and timing in writing.
