Domestic Cleaning Services: Define the Home Checklist

Domestic cleaning can help with agreed household tasks for a one-off visit or recurring arrangement. Describe the rooms, condition and access so the provider can confirm a practical scope and price.

Plan routine or one-off domestic cleaning

List kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas and floors that need attention. State whether the property is furnished, occupied or vacant and what tasks should be prioritised. A deep clean or rental handover has a different checklist.

Identify add-ons separately

Inside ovens, refrigerators, cupboards, windows, carpet extraction, upholstery and exterior areas are not automatically included. Request each item, note material or condition concerns and confirm it in writing.

Confirm terms and access

Review scope, price basis, timing, supplies, keys, parking, pets and cancellation or rescheduling terms directly with the provider. Do not assume a specific cleaner, background check, product type or guarantee unless confirmed in current service terms.

Prepare the property

Secure valuables, clear access to agreed surfaces and identify restricted rooms or delicate finishes. Repairs, pest control, mould remediation, hazardous waste, childcare and heavy lifting are outside ordinary domestic cleaning unless separately assessed.

Keep cleaning moving
