Identify the cleaner and the carpet
Find the machine’s make/model and the carpet or flooring care information. Confirm whether the appliance uses steam, hot-water application, extraction or a combination. These processes are not interchangeable. Check whether the carpet material, backing and installation are compatible with the machine and any cleaning product.
Use both manufacturers' instructions
Follow the exact machine manual for assembly, water, approved solutions, attachments, operation, maintenance and fault response. Follow the carpet maker’s care guidance for moisture, heat and cleaning methods. Do not guess at detergent, dilution, passes, temperature, pressure or drying time, and do not add chemicals unless both sources permit their use.
Prepare safely and stop if the carpet changes
Clear small objects and protect people from cords and wet-floor slips. Do not operate electrical equipment around standing water or a damaged cord. Stop if colour, pile, backing or texture changes, an unusual smell appears, or the machine faults; contact the carpet maker, machine manufacturer or a qualified carpet professional.
Set realistic expectations
A machine’s name does not prove it will sanitise, remove every stain, eliminate allergens or leave carpet dry within a fixed time. Results depend on the equipment, carpet, soil, method and conditions. No health, disinfection, stain-removal or performance result is promised here.
Consider a professional assessment
For unknown fibres, delicate backing, persistent marks, previous chemical treatments, extensive moisture or equipment faults, pause and ask the relevant manufacturer or a qualified carpet-care provider. Confirm the proposed method, scope, exclusions and aftercare in writing.
