Plan tasks in advance
Choose the rooms guests will use, clear access to surfaces and make a list of tasks that can be completed early, such as decluttering, laundering linens and arranging rubbish collection. Leave final floor cleaning and bathroom checks closer to arrival.
Focus on kitchen and dining areas
Clean accessible counters, sinks, appliance exteriors, dining surfaces and floors. Oven interiors, rangehood filters and inside refrigerators require separate attention and should follow the appliance manual and product label. Do not mix cleaning products or apply an unapproved product to food-contact surfaces.
Prepare bathrooms and guest rooms
Check sinks, mirrors, toilets, showers, floors and ventilation. Provide fresh linens and towels if that is part of your household plan. Identify surfaces that need special care and avoid combining bleach, acids or other chemicals.
Final check and optional help
Before guests arrive, remove cleaning tools, check that surfaces are dry and ventilate rooms as product labels direct. Carpet extraction, window work and a full domestic clean can be requested separately; confirm access, inclusions and timing with the provider.
