Check the oven manual before comparing products
Find the model instructions and identify the interior coating, removable parts and any self-clean feature. Some manufacturers exclude commercial sprays or abrasive products from particular surfaces. Follow the appliance manual where it gives a specific restriction, and do not apply a cleaner to a part the maker says to leave untreated.
Read the label for the intended surface and task
Check that the product is labelled for the oven surface and type of soil, then follow its application, contact-time, ventilation, protective-equipment and rinsing directions. A product described as fume-free, eco-friendly or powerful is not automatically suitable for every model. Do not use a cooktop product inside an oven unless both sets of instructions permit it.
Avoid mixing products and improvised combinations
Use one product at a time exactly as directed. Never combine oven cleaner with bleach, ammonia, vinegar, peroxide, baking soda or another cleaner; mixtures can react or leave damaging residues. Do not assume that a homemade recipe is safe for a coating, heating element, seal or food-contact part.
Choose by practical use, not an unsupported ranking
Compare the labelled surfaces, application method, ventilation needs, contact time, cleanup and storage directions against the job. Keep products in their original containers and away from children, pets and food. For unknown coatings, heavy buildup or a damaged oven, check with the manufacturer or request a professional assessment rather than testing an unverified chemical.
