Confirm whether the oven has a self-clean cycle and which racks or panels are user-removable. Switch it off and let it cool fully; isolate power only as the instructions allow. Ventilate as directed and keep children, pets and food away from products and the work area.
Choose a method for the interior and racks
Use a cleaner labelled for the exact surface and follow its contact, ventilation and rinsing directions. Coatings, catalytic liners, glass, seals and food-contact accessories may require different care. Do not apply oven cleaner to excluded parts or use abrasives that can scratch the finish.
Avoid chemical mixing and improvised recipes
Never combine baking soda, vinegar, bleach, ammonia, peroxide or commercial oven products. Product combinations can damage surfaces or create hazardous reactions. A self-clean cycle also has model-specific use and safety instructions; it does not replace manual maintenance where the maker requires it.
When to request professional oven cleaning
Heavy buildup, difficult access, smoke, damaged coatings, faulty seals and uncertain appliance construction may need professional or manufacturer advice. Share the model, condition and requested parts when asking for a quote. Cleaning does not repair a faulty appliance or guarantee cooking performance.
