Wait for builder clearance
Confirm dusty work is complete, remaining trades are coordinated and access, power and water are safe. Keep cleaners out of restricted areas. Suspected asbestos, silica, chemical residue or unknown materials require specialist assessment rather than ordinary cleanup.
Work from reachable high areas down
List accessible ceilings, fixtures, frames, cabinetry, bathrooms, kitchens, glass and floors. Use stable access and equipment suited to each surface. Do not climb, dismantle fixtures, clean live outlets or spray electrical components.
Protect glass, stone and finished surfaces
Paint, silicone, grout and adhesive removal can damage glass, tiles, coatings and benchtops. Follow manufacturer guidance, test only where appropriate and use a qualified specialist for difficult residue. Pressure cleaning or acidic products are not suitable for every surface.
Treat ventilation, waste and handover separately
Do not open ducts or replace system filters unless authorised and qualified. Agree who manages ordinary packaging and waste, and arrange hazardous waste separately. A clean does not improve or certify air quality, meet every building rule or guarantee handover acceptance.
