Identify the BBQ and condition
Share the fuel type, model if known, location, access, visible grease, corrosion and condition. Mention whether it is connected to gas or power and whether it can be safely isolated. Do not attempt to disconnect fuel or dismantle components unless the manufacturer directs it.

Confirm parts and cleaning methods
Ask whether grates, trays, burners, hood, exterior and surrounding area are included, and which parts must remain assembled. Check that proposed products and methods suit the manufacturer's instructions and surface materials. Electrical, gas, mechanical repairs and pest work are separate tasks.
Discuss safety and site access
The appliance should be cool and accessible. Confirm who isolates utilities, protects nearby surfaces, handles wastewater and manages removed grease. Stop use and seek qualified service if there are suspected gas leaks, damaged wiring or faulty components.
Compare service terms
Request a written task list, exclusions, price basis, preparation steps and what happens if corrosion or damage is found. Cleaning may improve appearance but does not restore damaged coatings or guarantee cooking performance.
