Remove food and ordinary rubbish
Clear perishable food as appropriate, empty routine bins, wipe visible spills and leave sinks and counters in an orderly state. Follow appliance instructions for refrigerator or dishwasher care, and do not pour grease or chemicals into drains.
Dry laundry and bathroom surfaces
Wash or dry damp towels and laundry according to their care labels. Clean accessible bathroom surfaces and allow them to dry; use ventilation as instructed. Persistent moisture, leaks, mould-like growth and blocked drains need maintenance or specialist attention.
Check access and home security
Secure windows and doors, arrange keys only with an authorised person and decide whether any cleaner or property manager will enter. Keep chemicals stored safely and avoid leaving appliances operating unless their instructions permit it.
